Daniel Eitzman, M.D.  Dr. Eitzman is Professor of Internal Medicine, section of Cardiovascular disease. He also has appointment in Cellular and Molecular Biology in the U-M Medical School.  He is the Director of the University of Michigan Cardiovascular consult service and has a joint appointment at the VA.  He has extensive clinical experience with complications of vascular disease and served as an interventional cardiologist for 10 years. Dr. Eitzman’s research program focuses on identification and characterization of novel mediators of vascular disease with a particular emphasis on atherosclerosis and thrombosis. His laboratory developed novel methods to study relevant vascular endpoints in transgenic mouse models. The overall goal of his work is to discover and implement new strategies to prevent vascular complications in patients with risk factors for vascular disease.
